I got (most of) the axle out, but the splined part which goes into the diff is stuck in there pretty well. I used a prybar to loosen it, and it moves a little bit, but it feels like it’s stuck on something. Any advice?

I have no idea what I’m talking about, but I recall a part in that general area being held on by just a clip - the Car Guys told the caller about this. He’d used a pry bar and heat. Any chance there’s a clip you missed?

I don’t see any, I loosened it with a prybar and it came out a little bit, but it won’t come out further

Well I’m not sure what you're working on but when we install axles into 7.5 gems they use c clips. We send them along with nearly every single differential we send out except full floats.

What sort of car is this? And you could call a dealer, or do a Google search, about this repair. I’d bet you there’s a YouTube video showing you how to do it.

My guess is clip inside the diff housing. That said, I’ve never worked on independent suspension’s axles, just solid rear and undriven fronts.
